It seems that everytime I want to post, something will crop up. Maybe I'm just lazy.
It is a new year, and there are many new things to do, new dreams to pursue, new people to meet. One of my resolution this year is to be of more service to others without having a bad attitude. It has been a roller coaster ride of 2006 for me, and I sure do not want it to happen again this year.
Recently I have been catching the death note animes online at youtube. It really attracted me with the deep plots and schemes that the actors have. The directors sure thought of a compelling script. My first contact with Death Note was when Kat sent me a link to wikipedia's page on Death Note, then recently, a few of us went to watch Death Note 2 during Christmas season. I was totally hooked. I shan't spoil the story for you by telling you everything, but if you are free, why not pick up the manga or anime and watch it? Anyways, this is the first anime that I follow, unless you count pokemon too. =P
Another interesting show I watch recently was Borat. How many people actually watched His show without finding out the facts behind it, like the fact that Borat is a Jew as well as a comedian. Oh wells, he is a very good one at that, with several productions in his belt. Wikipedia is a real good guide. Well, I can't say I enjoy all the parts of the show, I don't particularly agree with some of the segments. Nonetheless, the way the show is put forth really show that man are after all, not what they appear to be. A good honest gentleman to you may be a discriminating bigot, while a evil man may have a conscience after all. Too much to ponder, too little time.
Another hobby of mine, reading is back. I have currently finished book 1-7, 9 of The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. Am reading Book 11 currently. So if anybody has any idea where I can get book 8 and 10, (preferably 2-hand or loan), please do tell me. This series is a truly fantastic tale spun by a master. It is a land populated by unknown nightmares that you've never read before outside of this series, concepts that are so original that it will make you laugh as to why you have never thought of it. The only drawback is the rather similiarism to Tolkien's LOTR's settings. Overall, it is one of the most enjoyable fantasy series I have read, besides the Tolkien's series. Thanks to Lawerence for the introduction.
5-fold ministry is back and this week, we studied about the role of the pastors. All in all, it taught me that I must really learn to serve others with love, long suffering and more love. I'm humbled by the way Moses stood in the gap for the people who were not his.
I want to thank Alvin for all that he has done for the cell group. Despite being in E315 for just a few months, I can really see his hard work and results. I believe this year will be a year of breakthrough in the discipleship of the members, as well as the spiritual level. Much has been done, and much more will be done. Of course, there are the leaders that I will forever be indebted to, like Meiyi and Jo. Both of them have taught me and encouraged me and shown me the way. Indeed, you cannot force a sheep to eat of the goodness of the land, for the sheep must taste and see that it is good.
Which brings me to the point of, if you have a Word from God, you have to mix it with actions, because if you received the Word by Faith, but have not done anything about it, then nothing may happen. But if you mix the Word of God with actions, isn't that what faith is all about? For the bible says, 'Faith without works is dead'. Therefore, when you receive a Word from God, step out in faith and work towards it. Then you will achieve it.
One of the first secular songs I learned last year since knowing Josh Goh was this:
Today is gonna be the day
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels
The way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all
You're my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day?
But they'll never throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do
About you now
And all the roads that lead to you were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
I don't know how
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after an
You're my wonderwall
Said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

to someone who may need it:
the world grows darker everyday
the sun seems to have fade away
but oh why are you crying
I heard your foot steps turn to gray
lift up your eyes
and know I'll be there
to share the icy cold wind
with you in embrace
slowly the warmth melts
thats what you heart must've felt
Oh summer time where have you gone
to a faraway place
but know that hope will always bring you home
to the shining walls of faith
to trust in the eternal grace
that'll leading you through each day
there's nothing too deep
nothing too strong or wide
that'll keep Me away
as long as you keep trusting
and have a little faith.
