I have been reading a few books in the last few days.
One of the most notable ones was The Kite Runner.
A tale of Afghanistan from the past to the present. The story is beautifully set in the backdrop of the last days of the Shah to the times of the Talibans. The main protagonist, Amir (if I remembered correctly), relates the story of growing up amidst strife, and happy childhood memories that ultimately cumulate into a somewhat satisfying ending. Satisfying because it is not a fairytale, but what life always brings. Go read it to enjoy if you are looking for the life-kinda story. It'll probably invoke memories for you. I like what one of the character in the book says, "for you, a thousand times over." And he meant it.
4.5/5 stars
(I have not read much books of this genre, nevertheless, it has certain qualities that sets it apart from those that I have read.)
Some other normal books that I read were thrillers, war, action stuff. My kind of books. I figured that I must have read 7 books in the past week and a half. And I'm enjoying it.
I'm finally getting my laptop back, and may go for choir prac tonight.
The past few days were spent at home saving money and trying to eat as little as possible. There is still Napha coming up, and I don't intend to fail. I have been trying to skip supper or at least eat healthier supper like fruits and yoghurts. In time to come, I'll probably try to sleep earlier as well.
